Hello again! I had a bit of a hiatus, but hope to post more soon.

I agree with your take on the App Store. Heck, if for nothing else than saving all the damned cardboard and/or plastic being made for DVD/CD purchases, I believe it’s worth it! Plus, the utter simplicity of the idea is very enticing.

You’re back!

I think the app store is interesting for a couple of reasons:

1. Changing the way we buy software. No more going to the store and buying a DVD. You download, you get updates and it seems to be a bit cheaper.
2. Changing the way we use the web. We seem to be using clients to surf the web now. Amazon has it’s own app, so does Twitter and Facebook and Google…and, well, I don’t use the web that much except when an app is using it in the background. It’s Matrix creep, I’m tellin’ ya!

(A bit late to the party, but here goes…)

The Blue/police part of it makes sense, although I remember reading somewhere that it had to do with the copter’s SUPPOSEDLY dark blue color (it certainly looked flat black to my eyes *shrugs*). As for the “Thunder” part, my theory is this: Remember that BT was the end result of the T.H.O.R. project (Tactical Helicopter Offensive Response). “Thor” also happens to be the name of the Norse god of thunder. Coinkidink? Methinks not.

I do like the look of the nook (if that doesn’t make me sound like a greetings card writer) as I have tried the Sony e-reader (the most unintuitive piece of tech I have used in a while) and the Kindle (clunky). I wonder if it’ll be released over in Europe…probably not.

What I struggling with at the moment is iPhone OS 4.0 – it’s killing my 3GS!
